Tricia Schmidt

https://www.nccshop.org/tricia-schmidt

Tricia Schmidt is a potter and ceramic jewelry artist whose functional work draws inspiration from the rich history of handmade ceramics in the Twin Cities area and combines that influence with her love of illustration. Her work is characterized by graphic and simplistic colors and shapes. Schmidt favors her pieces that use unexpected forms and images juxtaposed against each other to celebrate the absurd, or to speak to the anxiety and feelings of disconnect all too prevalent in society today. She is currently a high school ceramics teacher, which she claims contributes to the freshness and evolution of her own work.
