Pascal Chmelar

My kilns and studio are located in New York. I work two different types of wood fueled kilns. One an anagama style for natural ash glaze the second is a Fred Olson fast fire for applied glaze work. I really enjoy the simplicity of working with wood as a fuel, matches, wood, air, damper. In general I prefer to produce strong form with few embellishments to allow space for the fire and ash to do their work. My pieces are heavily centered around functionality as I produce a variety of vases, plates, jars, and more!
