Contemporary, Functional Ceramic Art Collection
The Underling theme of my work is Chaos. It comes out of my take on contemporary life, with its fast paced, information packed, media driven frenzy. Not one for subtleties, I tend to pack as much visual information together to create an abstract, often confusing narrative. A piece usually springs from a general theme. I want to lead the viewer in a general direction, but not so specific that everyone will read it the same way. My ideas can come from anywhere; personal experiences, good or bad…sometimes experiences I wish I’d have. I tend to listen to the radio a lot while I work, and quite often inspired by the stories I hear throughout the day. I use a color pallet that leans towards bright happy colors, contradicting the often dark and sinister subject matter of the imagery.
