Matt Hiller

As Lofted Acre Studios' own material manipulator, Matt explores the capabilities of three dimensional forms in various mediums with an emphasis in clay and locally harvested woods. His rounded ceramics education began at the University of Wisconsin Stout and has led to firing multiple kilns with several artists in both Wisconsin and Alaska. Working local birch, spruce, and alder with hand and power tools became an imperative creative investigation for Matt alongside the necessity of logging, milling, designing, and building a home & studio off the grid in Alaska. Matt is represented in various galleries and shops from Talkeetna to Anchorage, including the Dancing Leaf Gallery, Talkeetna Gear Shop, and Dos Manos.
