Marian Draper
Originally from Rome, NY, Draper is a graduate from Rochester Institute of Technology where she earned her bachelor’s degree in studio arts with a concentration in ceramics. Wheel-thrown, utilitarian vessels are the focus of Draper’s practice. On the surface, Marian explores floral motifs and patterns inspired by rich botanicals, nature, and the Arts and Crafts movement. Her forms are an exploration of her interests in volume, line, and proportion. Draper works with a low-fire earthenware clay and various underglaze applications to create her elegant and ornate forms.
