Evie Botbyl

Evie Botbyl was born and raised in Humboldt, TN. She has been working in clay her whole life, and some of her earliest memories are about playing in clay and being in the studio. Botbyl has been seriously pursuing ceramics since 2017 and has grown into her style of colorful functional pottery with ocean pollution narratives. She hopes to bring awareness to the single use plastic waste that fills the oceans and causes harm to marine life. Botbyl enjoys painting unique ocean animals alongside bright lilies, rainbows, and single use trash commonly found in the sea, such as soda cans, plastic cups, bottles, cutlery and bags. She often includes a miniature sculpted unsolved Rubix cube to symbolize the unsolved problem that is ocean pollution.
