Boo Lee

Boo Lee is a porcelain art and pottery studio owned and operated by Sean Adams and Sydney Ziemke. This dynamic duo combine their clay and painting skills to make heirloom-quality objects that are thoughtfully conceived and expertly crafted. The work is typically slip-cast from models thrown on a wheel; during the leather-hard stage hand-cut stencils are applied, and then the cast forms are painted with pigmented slips to a very specific thickness that creates the bas-relief effect. All clays and glazes are formulated and mixed in-house.

Sean studied ceramics and painting at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Sydney began her ceramics career in 2015 while working for Schaller Gallery in St. Joseph, Michigan. They’ve been making work from their private studio in Stevensville, Michigan for nearly a decade.
