Bill Hunt

Perhaps most widely known for my 22-year editorship of Ceramics Monthly magazine, I have since been a resident artist at the Archie Bray Foundation (Helena, Montana), and a full-time studio potter. From 1999 to 2012, I taught ceramics, glaze/clay formulation and ceramic art history at Columbus College of Art & Design (Ohio), thereafter being named Professor Emeritus. An artist for more than 45 years, I have exhibited ceramics in over 100 regional, national and international exhibitions. My work has been included in more than 60 different articles and books nationally and internationally. In addition, I have conducted workshops around the country, juried and curated multiple exhibitions including the seminal “21st Century Ceramics in the United States and Canada," and authored a long list of publications. My current work with handbuilt and thrown porcelain, bone china or stoneware vessels reflects an interest in ceramic processes and the various grasses found on our Ohio farm, drawn or painted in cobalt underglaze and overglaze.
